CHICAGO – Brady Sarkon and Josh Parks each belted home runs to highlight the University of Chicago baseball team in a 6-3 loss at NCAA Division I Illinois-Chicago Tuesday night.

The host Flames (24-14) jumped out to a 4-0 lead after five innings at Curtis Granderson Stadium, plating two runs each in both the fourth and fifth frames.

UIC's Aaron Ackerman accounted for three of the four of those RBI, including a two-run homer in the fourth to break the scoreless tie.

Sarkon would get the Maroons (22-10) on the board in the seventh, belting his third home run of the season over the left field fence that plated both himself and teammate Josh Parks, who walked.

After UIC added two more runs in the eighth, it was Parks who would add another long ball of his own with his solo shot to right field in the top of the ninth to create the final score. But the Flames' closer Joey Frederickson would get out of the inning without any more damage to seal the win.

UChicago totaled six hits on the day, with Connor Hickey (double), Maximiliano Larsen, Payton Jancsy and Brian Lyle adding hits.

Nine different pitchers saw action for the Maroons, scattering six hits and striking out seven Flames' batters. Zach Morochnik, Daniel Smith, Arno Curtis, and Patrick Murphy each didn't allow a hit in their inning-long appearances.
