LISLE, Ill. – The University of Chicago track and field teams were well-represented at the weather-shortened Benedictine Relays held Friday.

The original two-day event was adjusted to a single day competition after Saturday's Day 2 was canceled due to impending weather.

In total, the Maroons had three event winners. On the women's side, sophomore Isabel Garon was victorious in the pole vault with a winning mark of 3.45 meters and senior Claire Costelloe ran the fastest time in the 5,000, crossing the line in 18:14.36.

For the men, it was junior Ansel Richards who won the Maroons' lone title, capturing top honors in the 10,000 meters with a time of 33:.17.06.

Across the board, 22 Maroon student-athletes earned Top 10 finishes with 18 of those in the Top 5 of their respective events.

For the men, first-year Ryan Cutter was runner-up in the 5,000 meters, an event which also featured fourth-place Chase Gardner and fifth-place Jacob Gosselin. Senior Peter Kreuch was third in the 3,000 and junior Owen Melia took third in the 1,500. Sophomore Alexander Scott had the top placing in the field events with his fourth-place finish in the shot put.
