CHICAGO – University of Chicago softball player Molly Moran garnered inclusion on the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Softball Team on Thursday, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Academic All-District recipients must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution. The softball Academic All-Americans will be announced in June.
Moran, an economics major, wrapped up her decorated career as a four-year starting pitcher for the Maroons. In her senior season, she posted an 11-8 record, 2.55 ERA, 15 complete games, three shutouts and one save. Moran struck out 102 batters in 121 innings, while limiting opponents to a .241 batting average.
The senior righthander is ranked in the school's career top 10 in wins (8th), strikeouts (7th), innings (8th), shutouts (5th), ERA (9th) and saves (2nd). She was a two-time All-University Athletic Association selection, and twice earned a spot on the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team.
